I would pronounce Lotte "LOTT uh" and Lottie "LOTT ee."

I think it should be Charlotte, with the nickname Lottie.

oh, they are said differently

I didn't realize that, so forgot my comment below about the Catie / Katie thing :)

I quite like the sound of Lotte, but I think Lottie will be generally a more natural nn.
