[Opinions] Gerund
In high school I had an English teacher who wanted to name her first son Gerund (like the grammatic term). I don't know if she actually ended up doing it, but she was very serious about it. So, wdyt?
To be honest, I couldn't believe she wanted to name her son that. I would hate to have a name that meant "a verbal noun in Latin that expresses generalized or uncompleted action". Though I guess it's not too horrible since it's only two letters off from Gerald, which is an okay name.

Jane Yolen wrote "The Wild Hunt", and one of the main characters was a boy named Gerund.
That's really bad. Especially coming from anr English teacher. I once met a girl named Retina because her father was an eye doctor.
I'm guilty in that I sort of like it. =D
My 9th grade English teacher was horrible with the gerunds though and also the dissecting of sentences (and this is a noun....an adjective. Oooh, a verb!), so I have no clue why I like to say Gerund. ... Gerund.
Also, she used to call us "pseudo-intellectuals." Well, to be truthful, she called my classmates that; I kept my mouth shut so she didn't know if I was or not. =D

Ugh, no, no, no. Gerald, Gerard . . .anything else!
Ugh. I hope she doesn't get to name anymore children.
"Hi, these are my kids Gerund, Adjective, and Conjunction."
Edited for spelling.

Haha ... I actually asked her what her other kids would be named and she said something along the lines of adjective and conjunction ... I really hope she was just joking.
lol
