[Opinions] Jello
I know of twins named Lemonjello and Orangejello, prn. leh-MON-jeh-loh and oh-RON-jeh-loh. I think unique names are great, but some of them seem a little too unique. Especially the ones that are foods. What do you think?

This is in the book FreakonomicsI guess the author didn't do a very good job of fact checking, eh?

I haven't read that, is it good?

Aside from little mistakes like that, it's...good. Well, entertaining. It's certainly not a brilliant academic work, but it is definitely a fun read for people who haven't previously studied any of the topics it covers.

I've heard this story a million times. :\ It's an urban legend.

AgreedMy dad claims that these legendary twins were born in a hospital he worked at. I've tried to tell him that that is just an urban legend and that these twins were supposedly born at hundreds of hospitals across the country, but he insists they're real. If they were real every time someone made that claim Lemonjello and Orangejello would certainly be in the top 500 baby names.

The last time we had this thread...Lillian said a doctor at the hospital she worked at said that he DELIVERED Orangejello and Lemonjello. Right here:

Well, on the Clark Memorial Hospital website there is a person named Cha'Nyla. Sounds like a milkshake to me.

...how did that prove your point?

I'm just saying....people do name their kids things that sound like food, even if the jello thing isn't true.

Of course they do.There's a celebrity baby named Apple. I don't see how Cha'nyla sounds like a milkshake, but yes, people DO name their kids after food. Just like they name them after random adjectives.

DittoI don't think they really exist.

Yeah, these names are just as true as Shi'thead :-)

Poor kids!

Pure madness! How much teasing are they gonna/do they get at school? Well they'll either grow up to be tough as nails or nervous wrecks. It's like naming your kids Friedchichen and Roastchicken!
