For me, it's one-half Little Rascals...
...and one-half Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel. The second moreso than the first.
It sickly-sweet feminine to me, but evil, too (because of the latter association). I'm not sure how many people will think of the same characters, though.

Yep, I'm half-and-half on that one, too (though it does make me think of a vampire first, lol).
Hi there,
Sorry, but I don't really know what you mean by 'Little Rascal' -ish. Could you elaborate? Thanks x

Thank you dear, I think you've helped my point.
Seriously?
I'm very surprised. I wouldn't think many people in the real world even know what that reference is to, much less would think of it when they heard the name Darla.

The movie came out when I was a kid
And was insanely popular, so I'm not at all surprised. Original TV, yes. Movie, not so much.

Yes, seriously.
That's my 1st association, also. In fact, I can't even think of the name w/o these lines from the re-make coming to mind:
"Dear Darla,
I hate your stinkin' guts..."
Poor Darla! It's really a sweet name, too. :o/
