1. The name Lainey makes me think of a girl who is fun-loving and kind, but can have a temper.
2. Well, if you look at the popularity data for Lainey, it has recently been used in the US in small to moderate amounts. There isn't any popularity data for Lainey in the UK, so I don't imagine it being too popular there. I've only ever met one Lainey, and she was born in 1991 or 1992 in the US.
