Could you perhaps spell it Marlena? That way, people would always pronounce it the way you like. You could also use Lena as a nn.

Eh. I like Marlene because of Marlene Dietrich. Marlena looks sort of cobbled together, in my eyes.

I'd probably use Marlie as a nickname.
