[Opinions] Cormick?
So yesterday I requested full names that could have a nickname of Mack or Mick and I think it was Octavia that suggested Cormack, which I really liked. So I looked it up online and found the similar name of Cormick. I think I like Cormick better because I prefer Mick to Mack, but also, because of the meaning. Cormack means Raven's Son, while Cormick means Chariot Driver. And the reason I like that is because my #1 favorite song in the world in Chariot by Gavin DeGraw. It's about getting away from the stuff that bogs you down and just relaxing, its an escape. And I guess Gavin DeGraw pictured himself ridding off in a Chariot and going back to what makes him feel good. I love that concept. I first heard it when I was 16 and fell in love with it and eventually learned how to play it on the piano, and then I started singing and playing it. It was the first song I ever did piano and vocals to at the same time. That lead me to start writting and playing my own songs and then I finally started doing open mics. Chariot was the first cover I ever played at an open mic. And now I basically live for open mics and I'm working on copyrighting my songs so i can make demos for them and start getting real gigs. Cause my real dream in life would be to gig around with my own music and live off of it. And Chariot is really THE song that lead me to where I am now. So it's very important to me.
I also like the name Gavin, for Gavin DeGraw, but I feel like everyone I know already knows how much I like DeGraw's music and if they heard I named my child Gavin, they'd be like "really? you're obssessed!" haha, so Cormick is still a throwback to the importance of Gavin DeGraw's music, but its not as obvious. At the same time, it is a last name as a first name, which I'm not a huge fan of, and I feel like there's a company that sells fish or something named McCormick, but maybe I'm wrong. But it is unusual, without being horribly unheard of. And he could go by Cory or Mick or Mickey or something. Either one i like. Or he could use his middle name if he totally hates it. But I'm having trouble with combos...maybe:Cormick James
