1. If you love a name that is popular (like top 30 or so) would you still use it?
A. Yes, and I'd feel less guilty about giving the child a weird mn. Like James Cuthbert.
2. Just answer these with a number(s) or does not matter
Depends a little on surname, a lot on meaning/association, less on total syllables.
3. Do you like these names on a girl, boy, or none?
A. Jordan- neither for the next 50+ years, then sparingly either.
B. Jamie- boy
C. Alexis-boy
D. Madison-neither
4. Name a name for each generation or decade that is distictivly for that only when you see it.
2000s: Nevaeh, Zayden
1990s: Taylor, Brandon
1980s: Amanda, Kyle
1970s: Melissa, Jason
1960s: Lori, Steve
1950s: Lynne, Gary
1940s: Jean, Roger
1930s: Marjorie, Bruce
1920s: Gladys, Harold
5. Would you ever name a child a name that is distictivily out of place with the time. An "old fashioned" name like Florence on a 2008 baby?
Well, Florence is in fact rather fashionable amongst the Telegraph set...but I understand your question, and yes, I would pick an untimely name, like Carol or Phyllis, if I had reason to.
