1. If you love a name that is popular (like top 30 or so) would you still use it?
A. Yes
B. Yes but I would put a more unusual middle name
- I say this hestitantley, because it depends on how much I love the name. For example, I love the name Ella, despite it being #1, and would use it in a heartbeat if it wasn't my honourary nieces name. On the other hand, I find Hannah much too popular to consider, even though it's less popular than Ella, KWIM?
2. Just answer these with a number(s) or does not matter
If a name is one syllable like Anne, Jane, Rose...recommend a middle name 2+ syllables
If the first name is two syllables does not matter syllables for middle name
If the first name is three syllables ^ syllables for mn
If the fn is four syllables ^ syllables for mn
3. Do you like these names on a girl, boy, or none?
A. Jordan - boy
B. Jamie - boy, as a nn
C. Alexis - I don't like it on either- all I hear is A Lexus. I much prefer Alexa (on a girl, obviously, although I have no objection to Alexis on a boy)
D. Madison - both, only this spelling
4. Name a name for each generation or decade that is distictivly for that only when you see it.
- huh? do you mean dated names? Stephanie, Tiffany, Samantha, Jordan, Taylor, the -aydens are all dated to me, to various time periods.
5. Would you ever name a child a name that is distictivily out of place with the time. An "old fashioned" name like Florence on a 2008 baby?
- I'd love to meet a baby Florence. I wouldn't hesitate at all to use an old-fashioned name on a kid if I loved it- some of my favourites (Adelaide, Opal, August, Sidney) could be considered old fashioned by some. Dated, on the other hand, is different.
