I recently met a girl on a class trip, and she told me how people always misspelled and misunderstood her name. To me it looks pretty, but the 'leigh' makes it look like it's been made up. What do you think?

It was misspelled on purpose just so the parents could avoid the stigma of using a popular name.
When I told my friend I wanted to use the name Emily, she kind of looked at me and said, "Why don't you use Emmalee? It sounds the same and is so much less popular than Emily"

It sounds nice, but it doesn't look good on paper. I don't tend to like "-leigh" names much.
