[Facts] Gesader?

I just finished a book where the girl in the story had named her cat Gesader (which the author said was the Gaelic word for Enchanter). How do you pronounce it? Is it with a hard "G" as in "Gabrielle" or is it softer like in "Gina"?~Arie~
