Dear All,
This name is growing on me, fast. What do you think of Julianna? Write your opinion, if you hate it, love it, if it's boring, exciting. What kind of little girl do you imagine with this name?
From my personal experience, once my family was going to NYC and on the train I heard a Mom call her daughter about 3-4 years old this name. Not sure if it was spelled Juliana or Julianna, but I prefer the Julianna spelling personally.

I really love this girls name, because it's not completely boring (IMO) like Julia, but it's not "Shakespeare-y" like Juliette.

I don't care for Julianna. It looks downmarket and smushed. Juliana is lovely, though, said joo-lee-AH-nah.

I stronly dislike the double n. With one n, I think it exudes class. With two n's, it just seems hokey to me.

Julianna exudes class as well-actually Julianna came first, then Juliana. Julianna is pretty and classy. Juliana seems too made up, too much like Breana, Tiana...hence Julianna tops them all.

Juliana is a feminine of Julian. Julianna is Julie+Anna, which is way more made up and silly to me. I ONLY like Juliana as feminine of Julian.
Juliana's been used in ancient rome. I love it. So pretty and versatile and every letter makes a noise that it needs to. Can't stand Julianna.

How do you know that?
Juliana, as a feminine form of Julian, makes more sense than Julianna. It's not at all made-up looking, IMO.

I've got a lot to say about Juliana! I love that name. It makes me think of a dark-haired classic Roman beauty, with gorgeous large hazel/coffee colored eyes, thickly lashed, a person with ivory cream-colored skin. Tall, medium-build (not fat and not stick thin or petite), plays soccer, naturally straight hair, is very athletic, occasionally wears clear lip gloss, goes shopping when her friends take her, likes to hang out with guys but not a flirt.

I think the name Julianna is really pretty! It sounds modern to me, yet still feels like a name for all ages. When I hear it I picture a really sweet, caring, spunky little girl.

I pronounce it as Joo-lee-ANN-nah. I like that pronounciation better.

Julianna is pretty (I definitely prefer this spelling over Juliana). Personally, I prefer the simpler Julie, or even Julia, though.

I love Julia and Julie. I love Anne and Anna, but Julianna looks horrible and sounds pretentious, not to mention smushed together.
Wouldn't Juliana and Julianna be said differently anyway? Juliana is juli-AH-na, while Julianna is julie-anna.
If I had to choose one then I'd go for Juliana, as it has more cultural history and namesakes.
ETA: I apologise. I just looked Julianna up, it isn't just a smushing (even though it looks like it is) and has more history and background than I thought it did. Apologies.

I really like Julianna. I picture a girl who is understanding, caring, helpful, unique, and free-spirited.

Juliana is nice, but a bit more frilly than Julianne. I shouldn't even like Julianne, actually, I just do because I adore Julianne Moore.

I know a little girl named Julianne. Hmmm, Julianne, maybe that Anne ending bothers me cause I don't like the name Anne. )Even though one of my closest friends have this name.)
