I don't live in an English-speaking country so I hadn't heard of this name before watching "Age of Love". I started to like it.

I love the name... My niece is named after me (sort of) and her name is Jayannah. It's a 'twist' on my middle name which is J'Anne.
Also, I don't know a single other person with the name.

Thanks for the replies! While I can see the points you made and I usually like more traditional names or names from different cultures, I still think the name is lovely. That's the thing about one's taste in names, it can be unpredictable sometimes. So I suppose I'm going to differ on this one.

I really think Jay should only be for a girl. That being said, Jay is the masculine spelling, and Jae is the feminine spelling. Anna at the end makes the full name feminine.

i'm pretty sure Jae or spellings with Jae are just inventions.
