Well, I'm Italian and I find a bit too old-mannish (you're unlikely to find a young
Salvatore, and if you do, he's probably named after his grandfather). Also, it gives a strong Catholic vibe.But maybe it would give a different impression in the US. I don't think it's too Italian to use if you're not Italian, I love a lot of Jewish names and I'm not Jewish.
