I think Francesca is really sweet. I like Cesca as a nn. There are plenty of names that work with this name, it just depends on your style. I'd stick with traditional type names though for a mn.

I was friends with a Francesca. But her parents were from Italy, though she was born in the U.S. No, it's not a common name here at all.

The Francesca I knew was always called Fran. I like Francesca, but not Fran. I can't think of any other nicknames for it. And I can't remember what her middle name was, if indeed I ever knew it.

I love Francesca! I don't think I've ever met one either (in NZ). My favourite nn is Frankie, something a bit short and spunky to balance out the classic and elegant Francesca.
Despite not usually liking matchy endings, I always want to put another 'a' ending with Francesca.

I adore Francesca and I've never known anyone with the name. Perhaps that's why I love it. Oh, I did meet a woman once who had a dd named Lola Francesca. I thought that was nice. The other day in our local paper there was an article about a local family with quads. One of the kids was named Franchesca. I wanted to cry!

My favorite nns for Francesca are Cesca, Chessa and Chessie.

Ingrid Bergman has a granddaughter named Francesca who looks a great deal like her, so I'm fairly fond of it.
