[Opinions] Adeline
What do you think of it? Is it common in where you live? How do you picture it? Is it a full name for Ellie? Thanks.

I prefer Adelaide.
I love it. A beautiful classic. I saw a ba for an Adelyn the other day, its cute and sort of trendy to fit in with todays crowd, but i much prefer Adeline Add-ell-ine or even Adaline -Ay-da-line.
It doesn't work with Ellie as a nn in my opinion. I would go with Addie, Addy, Adele or Della.
Another similarly nice name is Emmeline. or Emmaline.

No, it is not common at all where I am but Madeline is. Where I am Ellie is a very popular first name or short for an El- name. If I met an Adeline "Ellie" I'd think it to be very contrived.
Adeline is very sweet, but the name nerd inside of me think it's a bit nicknamey, like you know when you make someone's name longer to be cute? Well that's what Adeline is: a pet form of Adele. But most people wouldn't know that.

Sweet Adeline
"Sweet Adeline" always comes to mind, and that's a plus.
Adeline is seeing a resurrence in popularity. I've seen it on boards a lot, although I don't know of any little Adelines personally. My guess is that the huge popularity of Madeline is helping it along.
My favorite nn for it is Addie, but Ellie works just fine too. I would think that Adele is a more natural origin to the nn Ellie, but there's no reason why Adeline couldn't work also.
