I prefer ClaudineClaudette (Klaw-DETT) is pretty but the -ette ending signifies "little", as in "little Claude". I prefer Claudine (Klaw-DINN). Or Claudia, which i pronounce as "CLOUD-ee-ah"."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

I know a Claudette that is SO annoying and stuck up! I really dislike her, which makes me HATE the name, sorry.
She spells it claw-det.

I know a girl named Claudria-it's a combination of her mother's name, Gloria, and her father's, Claude. So, definitely a "made-up" name, but a pretty one; maybe I think so because the girl herself is pretty; she's a dance teacher.

Growing up, I had a very close friend named Claudette. We sometimes called her Claude. Her family was French Canadian and moved to Michigan where I lived. She was pretty and had very dark, straight, long hair that she usually wore in one or two braids. Her sisters were Monique (I was closer to Monique, who was a year older than me. Claudette was two years younger than me), Denise, Carmen, Anita, and Linda. Claudette was the youngest. Her middle name was Cherie. Monique's middle name was Eloise. I don't know the rest of the sisters' middle names. ______________________________________________

Oh, you make me want to rent "It Happened One Night." Claudette Colbert and all that.I have to admit that I don't like most "-ette" names and this one isn't an exception. It's not a bad name, but I much prefer Claudia.

DittoI automatically thought of Claudette Colbert, too. Also, not big on "ette" names, and I also prefer (and love) Claudia.
