you don't mean Shion, do you?
Shion is a japanese female name, like "she" + "on" (more or less)
can't think of anything else that sounds close to shawn or sean ... do those even sound alike? Because I pronounce them quite differently ...

I just wrote a program to extract from http://www.dd.iij4u.or.jp/~ume20/f_name/ (Haven't checked the program, so someone who knows Japanese should check!).
I can't find the exact pronounciation you want (so, maybe my program is bust).
For san (where the consonant is different), it lists the following Kanji, whose pronounciation and meanings I list from the Unicode document.
1) 砂姫
砂 Tang:*shra Cant:saa1 HanPin:sha1 Mand:SHA1 Kor:SA
On:SA SHA Kun:SUNA
Mean:sand; pebbles, gravel; gritty
姫 Mand:JI1 Kor:HUY
On:KI Kun:HIME
Mean:beauty; imperial concubine
2) 燦
燦 Cant:caan3 HanPin:can4 Mand:CAN4 Kor:CHAN Viet:xán
On:SAN Kun:AKIRAKA
Mean:vivid, illuminating; bright
3) 太陽
太 Tang:*tɑ̀i Cant:taai3 HanPin:tai4 tai5 Mand:TAI4 Kor:THAY Viet:thái
On:TA TAI Kun:FUTOI HANAHADA FUTORU
Mean:very, too, much; big; extreme
陽 Tang:*iɑng Cant:joeng4 HanPin:yang2 Mand:YANG2 Kor:YANG Viet:dương
On:YOU Kun:HI ITSUWARU
Mean:'male' principle; light; sun
For shun (where the vowel is not what you want), I get
俊 Tang:tzuìn Cant:zeon3 Mand:JUN4 Kor:CWUN Viet:tuấn
On:SHUN Kun:SUGURERU
Mean:talented, capable; handsome
峻 Tang:suìn Cant:zeon3 HanPin:jun4 Mand:JUN4 Kor:CWUN
On:SHUN Kun:TAKAI KEWASHII
Mean:high, steep, towering; stern
春 Tang:*chuin Cant:ceon1 HanPin:chun1 Mand:CHUN1 CHUN3 Kor:CHWUN
On:SHUN Kun:HARU
Mean:spring; wanton
瞬 Cant:seon3 Mand:SHUN4 Kor:SWUN
On:SHUN Kun:MATATAKU MATATAKI
Mean:wink, blink; in a wink, a flash
駿 Tang:*tzuìn Cant:zeon3 Mand:JUN4 Kor:CWUN SWUN Viet:tuấn
On:SHUN Kun:SUGURERU OOKII NAGAI
Mean:excellent horse, noble steed

As the previous poster implied, Shawn/Shan isn't a Japanese word or name. Shun exists as a male name. I'm not sure if it's used as a female name and can't access the name database to check.
