All I can see is the word nasty.

I like it quite a bit actuallyI was somewhat surprised at first that she uses Nastia over her full name of Anastasia. The English pronunciation of Anastasia is quite different from the Russian, so opting for Nastia makes more sense and is easier for English-speaking people to grasp.

I don't care for it on its own, although as a NN for Anastasia it isn't bad. I can see where other people think 'nasty', and I'll admit, that it does come to mind. But otherwise, the look and the sound of it is rather nice - it just seems better suited as a NN imo.

Lol! I was just saying last night that I thought it was a very pretty name! I really like it.

I really like Nastya/Nastia. I have known a couple of girls with this name. I never really thought of "nasty" though.

I love Russian names, and I would love this name if it didn't remind myself and other Englosh speakers of the word "nasty".

It's the nickname for Anastasia. Her parents are from Russia, so of course they use the Russian nickname. It took me a while to adjust to using Nastya as the NN when I was learning Russian, now it's no big deal.

I couldn't tear myself from the television last night, wasn't it amazing. I agree. I didn't know about Anastasia, but I much prefer that to Nastia. It just sounded so nasty. I would prefer if she went by Ana even. I have more to say about Shawn to, but I will do that in another post.

In English it sounds way too much like "nasty", and I agree with those who pointed out it's better as a nn for Anastasia (which is gorgeous btw).

I really like it, but only as a NN for Anastasia. I feel like it needs a more formal name to fall back on. Also, I like it pronounce NAHS-tyah, not NAS-tyah. BTW: I love Nastia Liukin. Her full name is Anastasia Valerievna.

I think it's pretty as a nickname for Anastasia (Nastia Liukin's birth name is Anastasia Liukin). The problem is that I think of the word "nasty" when I hear it.

She is Anastasia which is beautiful I do not like Nastia as a nickname at all, prefer Anna,,

I think it's fine as a nickname, because then I think of it as NAHS-tyah and I'm all good. As a full name, though, I'm afraid I see nasty-uh.AKA, it sounds nice and looks blegh. Give her Anastasia or something to back it up? :)Array
