People laughed at whatsherface that named her kid Apple because it's a truly stupid name. Why do you think you'd get a pass? Not only have you named your child eggplant, but you did it in French. Klasseigh.
If you like it so much, call yourself by Aubergine for a while and see what sort of reactions you get. Do not inflict it on your poor child.
