(EES-a) (for a boy)
Issa was the pen name of a Japanese poet who wrote ten blue billion haikus and all of them are excellent. I have read about thirty and I love them. Issa means cup-of-tea in Japanese. I love it. Do you love it?
Here are some of my favorite haikus by Issa.
Climb Mount Fuji,
O snail,
but slowly, slowly.
Naked
on a naked horse
in pouring rain!
Children imitating cormorants
are even more wonderful
than cormorants.
New Year's Day--
everything in blossom!
I feel about average.
It once happened
that a child was spared punishment
through earnest solicitation.
The man pulling radishes
pointed my way
with a radish.
Issa. Issa. Issa. I like everything about it. I would like your thoughts!
Also, his wife's name: Kiku. Chrysanthemum. Many Japanese haikus (haiku?) focus on Chrysanthemums. Mostly Buson I guess. I am just going from sheets my English teacher gave me. But yeah anyway Issa and Kiku.
ETA: I noticed that it's an Arabic transcription of Jesus. That is not the name I mean. I mean Issa the poet's name.
ETA2: I had a dream someone named their kid - oh what was it. Licius. Not like Delicious, like Linus + Lucius. Lycius maybe. I thought it was interesting.

Issa is new to me. When I read the subject I just assumed it was a girl's name. But now I see it on a boy. Very interesting.

Truthfully, upon looking at it, my mind goes "Issa --> Issei --> Issei Sagawa, who killed and ate a Dutch coed and then inspired a Rolling Stones song (and not a particularly good one, at that)." D: But I think I could get over that--I've been thinking about the name a few minutes now, and...yeah, whatevs. Dude's nuts, but Issa did write some very pretty poems.
I really like Kiku, though, and also Kiko and Kikuko. I like how much K there is in a lot of Japanese names. Very appealing.
Lycius isn't doing it for me tonight, but then, Lucius never really gets me.
