[Opinions] Trixie
I know that for a lot of people, the first ideas that come to mind when they see this name aren't so great. So, out of curiosity, what does everyone think about this name (or nickname)? Not necessarily as a name for a newborn, or anything quite so serious. :)

Well... I think of a flighty, overtly sexual woman.
And I knew someone with a similar name, Dixie. That was her legal given name and it wasn't short for anything. But the way she carried herself, people took her seriously. Just a perfect example of a person making a name. The same think could happen with Trixie. If I met an accomplished person named Trixie, the name could garner some respect from me. But a person named Trixie just has one extra obstacle off the bat with that name.

My first thought was the baby from Hi and Lois, followed by Gollum saying "Tricksy little Hobbitsies", so those aren't great associations, but as a nn its okay and actually king of cute.
It's cute, but I can't help but think it's also a little trashy.
A pet dog.
Makes me think of either Speed Racer's girlfriend or that bitch from The Fairly OddParents. I'll pass.

I think it's adorable as an occasional nickname for Beatrix, particularly among family/close friends.
Well, a few years ago, my daughter obtained a calico kitten, and we were deciding what to name her. My daughter suggested Beatrix, because that was the name of a character in her favorite movie, "Kill Bill". I thought that was too much of a mouthful, and countered with "Trixie", a nickname for Beatrix, so that was what we named the kitten.
So that's what I think of when I hear Trixie, a calico cat. I think it's a great cat name, not so much for a person.
Secondary association: Ed Norton's wife on "The Honeymooners."

I think of a tramp... but I suppose it would be ok for a puppy.
It's a great name for a dog. Seriously, my aunt used to have a really cute dog named Trixie and it fit her perfect. I just could never imagine it on a person, even as a nn.
