[Opinions] Alwilda
I've recently found a love for Alwilda. I really enjoy where the name comes from (Alfhild, who disguised herself as a warrior to get out of marriage before it was cool). I like Alfhild too, but there's something just so sweet and delightful about Alwilda's clunkiness.I'm trying to choose a middle name. Opinions on these? Other suggestions?Alwilda Beatrice
Alwilda Beauty
Alwilda Blythe
Alwilda Cecily
Alwilda Frederica / Fredrika (can't decide on spelling)

Alwilda Harriet

Alwilda Fredrika, Alwilda Rosamund, Alwilda Tomyris are all calling out to me today.Alwilda Beauty feels cool in an oxymoron sort of a way.Hmm. I don't much like Alwilda (But looove Alfhild). I think it is the consonant-consonant-A ending that annoys me. Anyway:
Alwilda Liesl
Alwilda Ludivine
Alwilda Melete
Alwilda Mnemosyne (What a weird one. Sorry, it just popped into my head)
Alwilda Isibeal (ISH-bayle)
Alwilda Saveria
Alwilda Wilhelmine
Alwilda Zuleika
Alwilda LeocadiaAlly? Willy? Wilda? Willa? Hmm. Nah they're silly.

I like Melete, but I'm not sure where the stress goes. me-LE-tee? MEL-e-tee? me-le-TEE? The second one seems the most right but I'm not sure.Alwilda Ludivine and Alwilda Wilhelmine are both beautiful.

It took me a few times saying it, but I see what you mean, it has a greet feel to it, it's sweet and romantic but strong at the same time, especially with the story (even though she married him in the end). Possibly a bit unwieldy in practise though. I really like Alwilda Rosamund and Alwilda Thisbe. How about
Alwilda Mairead (ma-RAID)
Alwilda Rhiannon
Alwilda Bridget
Alwilda Vivienne
Alwilda Luthien
Alwilda Briseis
Alwilda Jocasta
Alwilda Nimue
Alwilda Xanthe
Alwilda Fern
Alwilda Katherine?

Ooh! Alwilda Mairead is so lovely. I tried it with a lot of Margaret variants, but none of them seemed to fit...I think that's the one. Adding it to my Alwilda list.Alwilda Bridget's sweet, too, and I really like Alwilda Katherine. (Alwilda Catherine? Hmm. Not sure about the spelling I'd prefer.)I do worry it might be a bit unwieldy, but since I'm probably never going to have kids, I don't worry as much about how the names would work for a real child.(Though I have to say, I could totally imagine having a daughter called Alwilda. Alwilda and Gertrude. Oh wow. That would be perfect.)
