This was the name of Mamah Borthwick Cheney, Frank Lloyd Wright's mistress. Her real name was Martha, but she got the nickname Mamah very early in childhood.*

So, what do you think? I think it's kind of quirky, though I wouldn't use it for my own daughter.

*Pronounced MAY-muh, by the way.

I don't like it, it looks too much like "Mama" (same reason why I don't like Mamie).

Even though it's pronounced MAY-muh, I still just see "Mama." I much prefer Mamie.
