Consuelo, Azucena, Ygnacio, and Bernardino would like to welcome Buenaventura to my list of unwieldy Spanish Catholic names. I don't know why I didn't come across this one before, but it sits at the intersection of a lot of styles I like. #1 unwieldy Spanish Catholic names and #2 names that end in a gender-inappropriate letter (see also: Pasha, Juno, Zuma, and Rocio).
So, a few questions:
WDYT of Buenaventura?
WDYT of the nn Buena?
WDYT of its cognates, Bonaventura and Bonaventure?
WDYT of the combos Leonel Buenaventura and Alonso Buenaventura?
Any ideas for mns to go with Buenaventura as a fn? This is a tricky one.
