Help[Opinions] Romilly
I was on the train today. It passed through a town called "Romiley", the man sitting next to me commented to his wife that he thought it was a nice name. She mentioned that so-and-so had a daughter named Romilly - Romilly Fleur, Romilly Flor or Romilly Flora, something like that. I'm hoping it was Romilly Flor.
They had a toddler with them (granddaughter I presume), the most adorable little girl I ever saw. Unfortunately I didn't get her name. :(

I like Romilly for a a girl. I was surprised to discover that Augustus John had a son called Romilly.

I quite like it because it's unusual and very feminine, although I prefer Romola.
I think there is an ITN newsreader called Romilly Weeks. That's where I first heard it anyway.

How was the name pronounced? When I see it written it reminds me of "homily" or Rommel. It's certainly different.

My friend is called Romilly
she pronounces it: ROMilly ... as if you were saying the name Millie, only that the first bit it is Rom (like CDRom) not just an M sound.
It's only ever been in a couple of name books that I've seen however

I actually quite like it. I think it's mostly the Rom half that appeals to me. I'm off to search for Rom names now, haha, thanks :)
