Uhh. Honestly, I dislike all names related to Michaela, and this one doesn't make much phonetic sense to me. I want to say mik-CALL-uh, not mi-KAY-la.

Thanks for being honest, I've never quite understood the whole spelling thing either. the bad thing is that I try to look up the meaning but I can't figure out which spelling I should go by. I think that I should go by Michal because that is the closest thing to it except for Michaela, which means 'who is like God?' but I think that it has to have 'el' to mean that.
