[Opinions] Anneliesa
I love the name Anneliese...but I want it to be pronounced the German way (Ah-na-Leez-a) instead of Anna-leese, so I thought if I changed the e on the end to an a-maybe that would make it easier for Americans to prnounce...I would probably call her Anne or Annie for short anyway as a nn...but I just wondered. Is changing the e to an a a tacky move, or acceptable. Just wondering opinions. Thanks!

I love Anneliese, but Anneliesa just looks wierd and wrong. I think you should use the Spanish Analisa, or just correct people on the pronunciation. They'd still have trouble with it spelled Anneliesa anyway probably, because "s" in German is pronounced like z.

I don't think it particularly strange... could even change the s to a z if you want to clarify pronunciation.

Tacky, sorry. What about Annalisa?

I like its fine but I would spell it Annalisa.

I just looks weird with an A at the end. And in German it's not pronounced with an A anyway, so I'd still go with Anneliese.

I love it. How is it pronounced?

Eh ... I think it's kind of tacky to change it. Anneliese is a beautiful looking, but I don't feel the same with Anneliesa. I think no matter what you would have to correct people on pronunciation. Plus, if you planned on calling her Anne or Annie, it really won't matter how Anneliese was spelled. I'd just stick with Anneliese and correct people on the pronunciation.

Agreed. I would just stick with Anneliese. It's too pretty and classic to rewrite.
