I believe it's supposed to be prn like Sidney. It was a somewhat popular name for girls in the Elizabethan era and Sidney was a common alternative spelling. Personally, I hate it, but I despise Sidney for girls like nobody's business. I suppose Sidonie is rather more tolerable.

Actually, it's supposed to be pronounced more like sid-oh-nee
I don't know where the stresses are, though, but for what I know, it is definitely NOT pronounced Sid-nee.
