I actually know two people like that.
One is Megan Elaine G. (MEG) Her parents did that on purpose with the intention of calling her Meg, but the nickname never stuck and so she only goes by Megan now.
I also know someone named Samuel Aaron M., and he gets called SAM.
I think that it's kind of a cool idea, but I don't know if I would ever do something like that.
