I love it. :) I prefer Alistair for some reason, not sure why. But Alasdair (and Alastair) are fine. I don't really like Allister, Alastar, etc., however. I don't know how I feel about Cyprian, but it is interesting and I could see it growing on me. Ian would be a cute nn. I do like Caspian, which seems similar to Cyprian, imo.

BTW, the first time I heard Alistair was on the OLD :b Nickelodeon show "You Can't Do That On Television". So for years that's who I associated the name with, the pale, scrawny but funny kid on that show. Now it makes me think of a sophisticated British man. Funny how things change. lol

I love the name Alasdair, and I named my dog Alasdair. From my experience, no one knows how spell or pronounce it. I'd spell it Alistair or Alister just to get the proper pronounciation. I'm really suprised some form of Alasdair hasn't become popular in the US.

I love Alasdair though I do prefer the Alastair spelling as it makes the pronunciation easier (I believe both are pronounced the same).

I love it and I love the 'd' spelling!! It's so strong and manly without being Alexander or even Alejandro! I do usually spell it with a 't' when I write it but I guess that's because I'm afraid other people will mispell it too! :)

I'm not too sure about Cyprian, it's kinda hard to pronounce but it does look really cool written down! I'd be tempted to pronounce it kip-ree-an instead of sip-ree-an. Hmm...I think it's growing on me though! It reminds me of my favorites Crispin and Crispus! :)

I like both spellings of Alasdair and Alastair. I also like Alastar. Handsome stong name imo.

I agree with you, I prefer Alasdair which is a good name. Cyprian is o.k., but I favour other -ian names over it.(Valerian,Lucian,etc)
