I've never seen one with a -sya at the end, but I don't doubt that one exists. The one besides Val that I saw is Valeroshka, which I thought was adorable.

... but as all nicknames they can be used for both. I looked it up and there are quite a few people named Vasha:-), but they seem to be female:-(
But, I've found Vali as a nn!
In Croatia these nicknames are also used:
Lero, Vajo, Vajkan, Vale, Valo, Valek, Valeta, Valko (+ full names Valerije and Valerij)
