Amy LillianOh, and the interesting tidbit:Amongst Alaskan Natives, if a baby is born around the same time a family member or respected elder dies, the baby is given the name of the dead individual because it is believed that the baby is a reincarnation of the dead individual. Obviously, this is not always the case anymore due to westernization but of all the Alaskan Natives I have known over the years, they have had at least one family member named through this process.
This is why in Alaska we get a lot of babies with "old" names like Bertha, Ethel, Agnes, John, and George.
