[Opinions] Glenda
What do you think of the name Glenda on a baby girl today?

I kind of like it, but its old-fashioned sounding
When I was in college, there was an older woman named Glenda in one of my English classes. She was about 40 or 50. She was all right, but she was one of the most small-minded people I have ever met in my entire life. If you didn't agree with her opinions, she would look at you in this condescending way. Since she is the only Glenda I've ever met, I think of her when I hear the name. Oh, and Glenda the Good Witch. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend it.
All I can think of is Glenda the Good Witch.
Me too.
I have a friend whose sister's name is Glenda. I met her once. She was named after their father, Glen. And then their mother Marguerite divorced Glen, married a man named Ernie, and named the daughter they had together Marnie, a combination of Marguerite and Ernie. I guess they like to do that sort of thing in that family.
Glenda is in her early forties now. I always thought of it as an offbeat name, not too attractive, with a slightly humorous feel about it. It makes me think of The Wizard of Oz, because the name of the Good Witch, Glinda I think, is so close to Glenda. Well, I suppose if I heard of a baby Glenda, I'd think that the parents could have done better, since the name doesn't appeal to me much. But I'd also think that they could have done much worse. At least it's not Madison or Kylie, which are just bad, or Emily or Isabella, which are overused.

I don't care for Glenda because it reminds me of Glinda, the Good Witch (of the North?).
But I've recently discovered Glenna, which is growing on me rapidly. (That didn't come out the way I wanted it to.) Also, Glynis I find very attractive. Golda and Gilda could also substitute. Do you like any of those?
