Manasarovara is the name of the sacred lake near Mount Kailash in western Tibet, Kailash is sacred to Hindu;s as it is said to be the abode of Lord Shiva. Pilgrimages to Kailash and Manasarovara are mae by Hindus and Buddhists, Manas = mind or consciousness, thus Manasarovara = Lake of Consciousness.
