[Opinions] Virgie

I think it sounds more cutting edge and fresh than anything. The only Virgie I've known (although I think she spelled it Vergie) was in my brother's class, so about two years younger than me. For her it was a nickname, short for Vergidale.
I like it. However, I have a tendency to say it in French. Was your great-grand-mother French-speaking, perhaps?
No, my great-grandmother was not French, she was Irish. 100% Marylander. Born, bred and raised. I wonder if she ever left the state once. She was a crusader though. Near the turn of the twentieth century she organized the first post office in Burtonsville, MD, which I have been told by my grandmother was extremely brazen behavior for a Burtonsville lady back then. It makes me very proud. Love boldness.

Sounds like an interesting, courageous woman.
Virgie Estelle makes me smile. It's such a grandma name. I immediately picture someone loving and warm who smells like gingerbread. ;-)
You don't hear names like that anymore. Still, Virgie is so close to virgin, I wouldn't go there personally. On the plus side, it is fresh. WDYT of Virginia to honor Virgie? That way she'd have several nn options if that floated her boat.

It's kind of cute. I like it more than I like Virginia. However, I wonder if it's too close to the word virgin to make it really usable.
Virgo's cool
