[Opinions] Is it weird that I pronounce the name...
... Rowena as row-EN-ah? Because I just can't see how row-EE-nah is phonetically correct, and it sounds annoying with the ridiculous 'EE' sound right smack-dab in the middle of a wonderful name.

Actually, I pronounce Rowena that way too. It's much nicer, isn't it?
I pronouce it that way too. I despise row-EE-na. If I want it to be obviously row-EH-na, I spell it Rowenna.
Ro-WEN-ah is a nicer sound than ro-WEE-nah, but does not make phonetic sense for the spelling Rowena. To get the pronunciation ro-WEN-ah it should be spelled Rowenna, I would think.
I pronounce Rowena as row-een-uh, and I think it sounds pretty.
I pronounce Rowenna as row-en-uh, and I love it.
I pronounce Rowenna as row-en-uh, and I love it.
I assumed row-EN-ah was how you say it too. Probably because it has only one e, not ee or ie.
I pronounce the name row-EE-nuh but I actually prefer the way you pronounce it.
I say Roe-EH-na...spanish pronounciation...
Ro-EN and Ro-EE both sound odd to me.
Ro-EN and Ro-EE both sound odd to me.
I don't think that Rowena, pronounced correctly, sounds annoying or ridiculous.
No, it's not rediculous. I totally see where you're coming from. Of course, if you were to use it on a child, be prepared for everyone to pronounce it with an 'ee' the first time. Lol. I think if it was spelled Rowenna the pronounciation would be more distinctly row-EN-ah.
I know a woman with the name, and she says it the same way you do. So nah, it's not weird. And if it is, then you're not the only one. :)
That is actually how I pronounce Rowena. Row-EN-ah. The EE way is just... strange-sounding to me.
