I like most sparkly things, so I often find myself trying to find names that match my style that are associated with glitter and such. Only a few gem names meet my criteria of not sounding overly new-agey or flaky (Pearl, Ruby, Opal, Garnet).

I came across the name Gemma, meaning "gem", of course, and wondered if it could make my list. What do you think of the name Gemma? I myself am still not sure about it. It is an old name (Dante's wife was a Gemma) but I'm still waffling about it.
