Lichna is a nickname from the novel Children of Dune, and I was wondering what you thought of it as a nickname for Alice?

It's pronounced LEESH-nuh.

It does sort of sound like it could be an obscure Russian-esque Alice diminutive.

In the book, it was just a girl's name, not a nickname.

When I see it all I can think of is "lichen," and I don't find the pronunciation of it attractive at all. Alice is so very lovely; why reduce her to something so horrid?
