Ophelia Grace is a sixteen-year-old girl from Scotland. Dissatisfied with her strongly Catholic family, she decided to rebel against them. Her family withstood her joining into the local theatre despite their warnings and her listening to hard rock music, which they deemed as wrong, but decided they had enough when she revealed her lesbianism. She likes drama, music, and literature.
Jorge is a fourteen-year-old boy from Argentina. He is epileptic, and for that reason, his family decided to give him up. He has received some mockery for his occasional "disconnected" moods, but is generally one that is driven for a purpose. He likes football and listening to music can sometimes help him.
Gerard is an eight-year-old boy from Canada. Raised atheist, he used to be in a well-knit family until his parents died in an accident. He is a bit saddened by it, but tries to remain cheerful for his sister's sake. Gerard likes stories of any kind, and history has long been his best subject.
Marie-Louise is Gerard's six-year-old sister. She is soft and quiet, and likes to play dress-up. She is also known to be a very talented singer for her age (it is reported that the first time she saw the film version of a certain musical, she could remember and reproduce a number from memory almost perfectly).
