Julio is a ten-year-old boy from Peru. His father had died long ago, and now his mother died due to a heart defect. Julio is sad, but he tries to remain optimistic for his younger brother's sake. He likes music, books, and animals.
Alvaro is Julio's seven-year-old brother. He, like Julio, is saddened by their mother's death and does not understand why she must leave them. He likes to play football (soccer), listen to his brother tell stories, and anything that is fast.
