[Opinions] New BA
One of my DH's friends just rang to tell us that his girlfriend just gave birth to a 7 pound baby girl. Of course we're thrilled for them, but I'm really not fond of the name they've chosen -Marlee JeanI think Jean is a family name. I'm not sure about Marlee, but I think they've chosen to spell it that way because her Dad's name is Lee. WDYT??

I think Marlee's cute. Sure it's nms, and I'd rather see Marley, but it's not awful.

I actually quite like Marley, but only with that spelling. Jean is nmsaa.

Cute...There's something very 1930's Dennis the Menace about this name, can't put my finger on it. I'm not overly fond of Marlee, but Jean gives it a kind of charm. Makes me think of freckles and toads caught by the creek and scraped knees.

That's why I like it, too. It's childish, but in a good way.

I'm not fond of the spelling Marlee; it looks so... phonetic. It looks more lke trying to tell someone how to pronounce the name rather than being the name itself. I would prefer the Marle spelling. On a more positive note, Jean is one of the only "filler"-esque middle names I don't mind too much.

Uhh...Okay well I've seen worse, but still. Marley's pretty bad as it is but to put a double "e"? Not a fan. Jean's a pretty neutral name so I guess I don't really have anything against it, especially if it's only a middle name.

I like it. I would have spelled it Marley, but Marlee Jean is a cute combo.

Yeah, Marlee is not good. And I really dislike Jean too, but at least it's a normal name. Marley only makes me think of Jacob Marley. And it sounds like a dog's name too. But congratulations to them nonetheless!

I don't like it at all. I wish they had chosen Leonora Jean or Melinda Jean or something like that, where the nn incorporating Lee or the Marlee name could be used
