Personally, I don't like it because it sounds made up to me.
I love the name Magdalene, though you have to be okay with all the Mary Magdalene references.
You could also try rearranging the letters in Alene to make up a new name. Some ideas are Elena and Leena.
Or you could pronounce it as Alenah. I know someone whose name is Lene, and she pronounces it as Lenah.
