[Opinions] Re: Paul
I've never cared for the name Paul, and unlike you, I haven't come to love it. I can't really give a concrete reason that I don't like it, the sound just doesn't appeal to me.John is certainly an unobjectionable name, but for me it's like Mary or Jane. It has been so common for centuries, even if it's not highly popular now, that it has too generic an image for me.My brother's name is John. He was named after his father, who was my mother's first husband. Even though it was evident that that's why he was given the name, my mother used to say that she liked John because it was a good, solid boy's name. I didn't dare say this to her face, but whenever she said that, I used to think, "Yeah, and boring as hell."So John Paul is nothing that I would heartily endorse, but at least putting Augustine at the end of it would give it more personality.

Yeah, I do worry that John and Paul are kind of boring, especially if I were to use names like Genevieve and Penelope for girls (those are currently my 2 faves). So I don't know if I'd actually use it, but it still does appeal to me.
