[Opinions] Re: WDYT of Galina?
in reply to a message by Katica
I love Galina. And no one would know that it means "chicken" in Spanish. I've taken 7 years of Spanish and I didn't know that. The word "pollo" is used for chicken in Spanish - chicken that is eaten. Maybe a "galina" is a chicken walking around? Regardless, know one would know that. And even if it does mean chicken, I don't think it matters. Galina is such a pretty name. I would not base it on the chicken thing. Isn't it also Russian?

Yes, it's Russian and Italian.
I looked it up and the Spanish is gallina, so slightly different, and different pronunciation. Probably not so bad then. :) I believe it means "hen" specifically in Spanish.
