...Feli? or Fel?

I need to know because one of the characters in my book gets called this a lot and since it's hard to tell someone how something is pronounced in print, I need to know.

The character is known as Felicity for the narration, Feli or Fel by friends and family.

If it's short for Felicity, I would say Feli is pronounce "fell-ee" and Fel is pronounced "fell"

FEL and FEL-ee, especially if knowing it was short for Felicity.

I would pronounce Fel the same as "fell."
I would most likely be confused about Feli unless I knew her name was really Felicity.
