[Opinions] Re: Two Favorite French Names
in reply to a message by BBH
For sure my fave boy name is Etienne, I've loved it ever since I learned about my great grandpa's brother Etienne, but I never found the perfect middle name for him. Nothing seems right. He needs something bold and cultured. Any suggestions?
As for a girl name, I'd like to say Séraphine since it's a family name, but lately I've really gone off it. It sounds spoiled and whiny to me lately. Sorry great great grandma Sophie Séraphine!
I like Marianne. It's not exactly screamingly French, but it is French nevertheless. It seems very kind, sensible and yet courageous. It's the kind of name that would fit it most anywhere. I've also not found the perfect middle name for it, never mind a French one. Maybe Marianne Lucie? Marianne has a very Lucy-from-Narnia feel to me: curious, clever, polite and brave.
