My husband recently stated that he likes the name Tessa, but as it's his parents dogs name, it's unusable. I suggested Odessa and Jessa to no avail. What do you think of Janessa?

I actually like it...

I might be 1 of the few on here who likes it, but I actually have it on my long combo list as Shiho Janessa. (all my usable combos incl. Jpns. names or are only usable for other people's children)

I really really like it. It may be made up, but it doesn't sound it. Like a cross between the Jane, and Jessica. Very cool. Go for it.

This was a stupid comment for two reasons:

1. Janessa isn't made up. It's in the database.

2. The data base says it's a form of Jane influenced by Vanessa. Which is right. Jane plus the ending of Vanessa. So how on earth is it a cross between Jane and Jessica? If it were, it would be Janica. How stupid of me. Jeesh. I'm very tired right now.

I still really really like it and say go for it.

Too bad he doesn't like Odessa. I think it would be great to have a little "Dessa" around the house :o)

Janessa? I'm still enchanted by Odessa so Janessa's just not that great. Meh.

I much prefer Janessa to Odessa. Janessa I'd consider. Odessa- definitely not... esp. after checking the meaning... big difference between God's gracious gift and hatred.
