[Opinions] Billy...
I just recently found out Billy is used on some girls. But it sounds to nick-namey. Could there be any full names that Billy could be a nickname for? I coulnt think of any. Thanks for reading!

I think if used on a girl this name screams redneck.

Usually for girls it's spelled Billie, as in Billie Holiday the jazz singer and actresses Billie Whitelaw and Billie Burke.Any feminine forms of William work well, like Wilhelmina ("willa-MEE-nuh") or Willa. Others:Belinda (We just had Belinda, nn Billie, in a thread yesterday. It belonged to a real little girl.)
Bilhah
Sibyl / Sibylla ("si-BILL-uh")
Annabel
Belphoebe
Cybele ("SIB-uh-lee")
Jubilee
Belen ("beh-LEN")
Abigail
Bertille (French feminine form of Bertil)
Mabel
Bithia
Arabella
Beryl
Blathnat / Blaithin ("BLAH-nut" / "blah-HEEN")(= little flower)
Christabel
Bidelia (although this is, in itself, a nn for Bridget)I know a lot of these have "bel" rather than "bil" in them. But to me nns are the place to get creative and whimsical. Could any of these work for you? Thanks.

Billie is fine on it's own but maybe Belinda? Wilhelmina? Willa?

Willemina?
Wilma?
Willa?
I personally like Billi just as is, but w/ an i so she doesn't get mistaken for a boy on class lists... Besides, it's cuter as is. For a boy, it would pretty much need to be short for something though. When I was young, there were a couple gals named Billie-Jo at school, so that's something else it could be short for. Not sure you wish to turn her into Willemina Josephine or anything since that's a little GPish, but can have fun w/ it. However, I think the girls were just Billie-Jo w/out it being short for anything.

Wilhelmina I've only seen "Billie" "Billy" seems more masculine.

I agree with it seeming too masculine.

I saw someone mention it as a nickname for Belinda the other day.
