I can sort of see how it might appear harsh to some - that "gret" ending does look like it is a little gutteral. And also the A-N-G-R in there nearly spells out "angry" - just one scary Y away! Buuuuut if you add just one more letter, you also get Anne-GREAT.
But nevertheless it is a crisp little darling of a name. I love how folksy-German it is. I'm not sure what type of vibe you're wanting to ride for it, but I'm just going to give you some randomly-occurring combos I think of.
